7.3 Social engagement & regional partnerships
Dolder Hotel AG is committed to society beyond its hotel operations – through voluntary initiatives, long-standing partnerships and the promotion of the regional cultural and social landscape.
Regional partnerships. As one of the largest employers on the Zürichberg, we see ourselves as part of the regional ecosystem. We maintain long-standing partnerships with renowned cultural events such as Art Basel, the Festival da Jazz St. Moritz, the Zurich Film Festival and FOOD ZURICH. With our in-house food festival The Epicure, a significant art collection in the hotel and a corporate membership at the Kunsthaus Zürich, we actively promote the local culinary and cultural landscape.
D-Impact Team. Launched in 2019, this volunteer team promotes sustainability from within. It has carried out various impact initiatives – from corporate volunteering with social organisations to the introduction of Vegan Wednesday in the staff restaurant and the switch from PET bottles to refillable bottles at water stations, saving around 50,000 PET bottles annually.
Earth Hour. Since 2021, Dolder Hotel AG has been taking part in the international Earth Hour. Every year on the last Saturday in March at 8.30 pm local time, the lights are switched off for 60 minutes at famous buildings, landmarks and private homes around the world. The Dolder Grand switches off its façade lighting for this occasion – as a visible sign of its commitment to climate protection and energy awareness.
Clean-ups. Twice a year, the D-Impact Team organises forest clean-up campaigns around the Dolder Grand – traditionally on Earth Day (22 April) and in September as part of the IGSU’s National Clean-Up Day.
Pink Ribbon Charity Gala. Dolder Hotel AG supports breast cancer research and awareness through the annual Pink Ribbon Charity Gala. In 2025, the Pink Ribbon Music Show also took place for the first time in the hotel’s ballroom.
Winterhilfe Schweiz. For several years, we have stopped sending physical Christmas cards and instead donate the money saved on printing and postage to Winterhilfe Schweiz, which provides direct support to people in need.
Arche Therapy and Child Support. Since 2019, we have maintained an active partnership with Arche Therapy Bülach – with regular corporate volunteering by the D-Impact team. In addition, we provide financial support to Arche Child Support, which offers individual support to children and young people with language, school or integration difficulties and helps build their self-confidence as they transition into adulthood.
Existing initiatives and partnerships – in both the social and cultural spheres – will be continued and, where possible, expanded. We aim to deepen existing collaborations and contribute to the diversity of the local cultural and social landscape.
