6.2 Pollution
The VSME standard stipulates under B4 that disclosure regarding pollution is only required if the issue is material to the company (§32, ‘if applicable’). For Dolder Hotel AG, direct environmental pollution from air or soil emissions is of minor significance. However, the use of chemicals and cleaning agents in day-to-day operations – in the laundry, kitchen, housekeeping department and grounds maintenance – is relevant. Here, we focus specifically on reduction and substitution.
Chemicals and cleaning agents
Dolder Hotel AG is committed to continuously reducing the use of environmentally harmful substances in its operations. In December 2025, the in-house laundry (Lingerie) was converted to a new dosing system from Hepro. This enabled a reduction in chemical consumption whilst maintaining the same washing quality, and the number of detergents used was reduced from eight to six products. In the kitchen and gastronomy, the switch to more sustainable cleaning products from Steinfels Swiss took place in 2025. In garden and landscape maintenance, chemical plant protection products are consistently avoided (→ Biodiversity chapter).
Our goal is to steadily increase the proportion of biodegradable and ecologically certified cleaning products.
